Friends,

Once again, thanks for your abundant spiritual support and wishes for Dan J, my friend.

Unfortunately, he has been handed yet one complication after another (his stalwartness in dealing with these issues is beyond my comprehension; I doubt I could ever be as strong), and it appears his time may be very short, indeed, barring a true miracle.

I Emailed him just a few weeks ago, and told him I would follow up with a call.  There was no Email reply (a very ominous sign, since he usually always writes back), and fortunately, I happened to be on the phone with my brother, who had called Dan's house just before me.  Dan could not really come to the phone, nor talk.  He is getting quite a bit or morphine, and was neither physically able, nor mentally clear to handle a call at the time.  His wife gave us the news. 

Of course, this is devastating.  It is a road each of us must cross one day, and I know some of us may have experienced this with loved ones and friends, but the brutal reality for one so young at the prime of life, is truly overwhelming. 

I will keep praying, and I know you will also, but right now, I am a little pissed off at God, to say the least.  I'm just hoping he has just one more miracle left in his pocket to give to Dan.
