I don't think she does. I think the left puts forth the illusion that she does in hopes that some elements of the right will keep her in play. That ultimately fractures the right and likely loses the center altogether, which plays well for the left. It's not a stategy without risk because if things really go hell-in-a-handbasket, those who were most consistent and vociferous in opposition to Obama stand to gain. But I don't see things going that far.
