Shake things up you say, Marc, but to what end? You mention "freedom" but what specifically do you want returned that was taken away? The devil is in the details as they say, and though I don't believe in the devil, I do believe in offering up specifics. If you're looking for spending cuts, where would you have them? As I wrote earlier, there is a limited amount to cut on the domestic discretionary front. Would you seek to get rid of the entitlement programs (medicare, medicaid, SS) as they are the safety net that is required for the people whom you claim to be most concerned with. If you feel the defense budget is too high, then you should be in favor of the president's getting us the hell out of Iraq (and may we not return I say) with the Afghanistan departure coming as well. Are you against progressive taxation? Again, the middle class takes it on the chin as the uber-wealthy just get wealthier. I'm not engaging in class warfare. I'm a capitalist but government has a role in keeping the less wealthy afloat. I surely hear your frustration, Marc, and we probably have a lot of overlapping concerns, it's just that I think the Democrats are far more likely to have the best interests of the lower and middle classes than the GOP. And don't get me wrong, the Democrats are no angels, I'm no ideologue. SCOTUS be damned, big money in elections is toxic for democracy. And though Dodd-Frank was a start, our economy, as well as the world's, is still susceptible to a replay that almost brought us all down in 2008. No more too big to fail.
