It really is a head-scratcher, when you look closely. To me anyway. And not in any comfortable way. Toons on both the left and the right appear to be following some precept, set back in oh '63 or so. Individualized by whacko on one side and wacky on the other. Both look to embrace the weakening of US from the inside out. Communism, Socialism, Capitalism … Ism- ism-ism like John Lennon penned. Like Conservative and Liberal, we are neither set point in space. We all make conservative and liberal decisions daily. That “plan” that was published back in '63 to break America from the inside. It was titled a communist plot. But communism broke the backs of the people. Socialism broke the backs of people. Capitalism is gladly breaking the backs of people. There is NO truth in the selection and implementation of one single “ism.” This battle of socialism vs capitalism in America today is tearing US apart. And it’s probably ALL communism. Certainly fascistic. On both sides. It’s difficult to see an upside. I could live communally in a capitalist society for the remainder of my life. Gladly. But in a democratic kind of social anarchy of a sort. A revolutionary syndicalism, a co- operative system of economics has been on the voices of sentient people talking around a good fire for decades. BOTH sides of our present political system would burn it all to the ground before opening the doors to such societal audacity. So both sides are the problem. AND neither side gets us any closer to a gold standard. Both sides look to be a golden ticket to trillions in war profiteering. Billions in prison profiteering. And quite possibly a real feasible means to population obliteration/control. It blows. Doesn’t have to be this way. But we puppet to the polls and break bread with destiny. My precious late grammy would have said: “Well. Poop on you.” (It was cute when she said it.)
