Sadly, Reg I think you might be on to something there. Speaking as a native West Virginian - I wished the namers of our state would have been a bit more creative. One of the suggestions I would have loved was Vandalia. Named for the Vandal Queen Charlotte of Britain. But alas - West Virginia.
