Even though I greatly dislike Glenn Frey (god, watch that two part Eagles documentary and any few minutes of one of his interviews and his arrogance and assholery is clearly present), I still recognize that he did play a vital role in rock and roll.
And you know, that is the fun part of debating what is "rock and roll" and who actually is part of it. Some of it may even be contradictory, too.
I mean look at Joe Cocker. Is there any singular performer out there that does not portray "rock and roll" or the carry the aura of "rock and roll" within their person than Joe Cocker?
I get we all have our personal favorites, but Jesus, merely inducting people into the RRHOF for mere money and money raising abilities is pure bullshit.
And I can't stand Motley Crue at all, but shit, as so many fans of heavy metal protest, they are right, heavy metal is being ignored while fucking rap and pop floods the supposed shrine to rock and roll with mediocrity. Fuck, in what, fifteen years they will be considering Taylor Swift.
