Icon My favorite line from the other day came from Trump...

One of the things they drilled down on, and I thought it was good, was that it had been explained to Trump and that idiot John Eastman several times by several people that the plan they had to bully Mike Pence into rejecting the electoral college results from several states and "sending them back to the states" so the state could then have a group of fake electors send back a fake result that said Trump won, was both illegal and unconstitutional...not to mention would mean that millions of people that voted would just have their votes thrown in the garbage for no reason except Trump wanted to steal the election.

So the key here is Trump knew the plan was illegal and so did John Eastman. They both acknowledged it was illegal and still, right up until January 6th Trump was pushing, bullying, demanding Pence do it anyway.

So, Trump, no surprise, was knowingly trying to break the law. Eastman got so nervous that they both kept pushing this plan that he wrote to Rudy that he wanted to be put on Trump's pardon list. So, Eastman was well aware they were breaking the law and trying to push Pence to take part in a crime. Eastman spent his time pleading the 5th 100 times when he talked to the committee, because he knew the plan he and Trump were pushing was criminal. So, he did not want to answer any questions about it.

They were still pushing Pence to do the crime on January 6th after both Trump and Eastman acknowledged it was illegal, unconstitutional, and been told they better lawyer up because they were going to end up in deep trouble. Trump screamed at Pence to do it anyway and berated him for not committing the crime for him.

Which brings me to my favorite line. In a meeting with Trump, Pence, and others after it was explained to Trump that the vice president had no powers to reject electoral college results and that the plan asking Pence to do so was idiotic, Trump said to Pence "Yeah, but wouldn't it be cool if you had those powers?"

It is an absolutely laughable thing to say and sounds like something a child would say but here is the president of the United States saying this to the vice president.

I guess Pence actually responded no, he would not want that power because it would go against what is in the constitution for one man to be able to alter election results. Which, of course, angered Trump. Supposedly it was at this moment that Trump knew Pence would not commit the crime for him.

Hundreds of Republicans, at both the state and federal level were ready, willing, and attempting to take part in this crime. The states Trump wanted to steal had prepared sets of fake electors to replace the actual state electors, who would, if Pence had gone along, step up to provide fake election results saying Trump won.

Essentially, every single one of these people that took part in this conspiracy to defraud the American people, should be prosecuted. Obviously the best way for that to happen is if a lot of Republicans that did not take part in this crime step up and say they want to see the Republicans that did prosecuted for the good of the country.

So, far, only a tiny handful are willing to do that.
