possibly largely just because of who is involved (a former US President) but at the same time, it is a true reflection that we do not have a genuine system of everyone being equal under the law or that this is a nation of laws because if it were, these judges would not be putting up with this shit one bit if these were regular citizens.

So to me, rather than worrying about appeals, this is all about spineless judges refusing to be pure jurists under the law.  And I hope that all of these judges across the nation now start seeing things like "Trump defenses" based upon this until they grow spines and quit tolerating such behavior.
