Fair enough. I should have made more of a commentary; however, I was in somewhat of a state of shock after hearing of the first incident, and just too pissed off to care much about being a more responsible apologist by the second... Yeah, my son turns six this year, and I wasn't thinking with my head.

I was again referring back to the earlier comment that "for all the bad things our government does, this still is the best country to live in, where we are free to do as we please for the most part." That kind of patriotic nonsense really upsets me in the face of the constant violent acts being committed, particularly in the US, by ever-younger perpetrators. And sure, the media tends to highlight these incidents, but they are happening with ever-increasing frequency nonetheless. There's also many issues to be discussed here, and many revolve around what factors would incite a six-year-old to blow somebody away. I think the fact that his dad was in jail and he lived in a crackhouse says reams about that. However, something desperately needs to be done about the gun-control laws in the states, and the fact that there are so many gun-toting scared and paranoid people in America makes me glad as hell that I don't live there, and very frustrated that the media conglomerates in the US have such a pervasive influence over the rest of the world.

What to do about it? Pray for divine intervention, I guess, though if the kind of god you could pray to over such issues really existed, then there'd be very little need to call on him in the first place, it seems to me.

I'm sorry if I upset people.
