Peter:No, I would NOT have attacked someone else for stating their
opinion of David's music. But, what I might have done is ask
them in a reasonable tone what they didn't like. I would be
interested in that more than I would be interested in creating
or participating in an argument.I don't like Springsteen --- as he seems disingenious. What you haven't addressed however --- is why is it so
important that I must agree with your musical tastes? The one thing that I have never done nor will I ever do it in the
future --- is like something because other people like it or
because it would put me in the IN CROWD. This is one of my
biggest gripes with people like SPRINGSTEEN and U2 and a few
others. I wrote a piece recently in a reply to Eugene that one thing I
have noticed about a large section of my music library --- is
that most of the bands and musicians I treasure the most have
all been on pretty heavy spiritual trips. I never said that you or anyone else had to like them ---
because I don't care what you like or listen to. That is for your
wife to enjoy or tolerate, if that is the case. I would never insult you if you said that you didn't like the
bands I listed in that post --- I would just assume you were on
a different trip. However Peter --- and this is something you obviously don't
realize, but I am happy to share this with you:All this music, like an airport --- takes their respective fans on
many different styles of trips. But even though we are all
taking different flights --- we are all landing in the same
place. A smile, a knowing glance, the smell of her perfume on the
night we met. A song you cannot get out of your head cause
its' so damn great. Taking different routes, but we all are
landing in the same place, and THAT is why music is so
important to all of us.The enrichment of our lives is what we are after --- and as
long as that is what we get --- who cares who's drumming the
beat? That's the beauty of it all, really.KDB = Buffalo, NY USA
