I, for one, think we are pretty fortunate. The artist whose work we are so involved with/inspired by is kind enough to offer a bit of a helping hand to an aspiring guitar player. You don't see that very often out in cyberspace. Thank you, David. Not only do you write and perform wonderful songs, you come across as a class act.
I would certainly love periodic tutorials of DB songs from Mr. Baerwald himself or others who play and feel comfortable discussing musical matters. While I can pick out many of DB's chords and melodies by ear, I am always interested in more advanced instruction. I think that musicians and songwriters of all calibers and experience levels can benefit from learning how a professional creates his work. Even for the non-musician, it adds great insight into the creative process to learn about the technical side of things.
For example, what is the tuning used for "Bitter Tree"? Was it composed as more or less a straight blues and then married to the more esoteric open tuning? Is there an acoustic demo of "Hydrahead" floating out there? Inquiring minds want to know.
