Points well taken, except in Princes' case replace "borrowed" with outright thievery. ie STOLE.
Yes, Jimi (by his own admission) lifted plenty from Little Richard and was in LR's band, but was truly original. Just as Baerwald obviously got some of his chops from Humphrey Bogart....but then turned it into very refined cocktail music.
Yeah, it is probably time for my enema (BTW...ever had one of those?...very interesting experience...more on that later), because I am often so FOS, but my reaction to Prince is..."off with his head".
Sorry, I just never liked the guy, but there are millions of folks such as yourself that think he is brilliant, so perhaps I'm missing something. Like so much discourse on art/music/beer/coffee/religion and of course Hockey, there is the camp of YAY and the camp of NAY. Hurray for all of that.
