In Congress, they have a nickname for Ron Paul: "Dr. No." That's because he's renowned for voting according to principle and nothing else. Good luck trying to find an instance of him voting for a special-interest group or for pork barrel funds. That's why his considerable election-campaign funds are mostly comprised of small donors - he's the one candidate who won't allow himself to be bought. He's really a libertarian (and ran for president for the Libertarian Party several years ago) running under the guise of a Republican. As a libertarian myself, I heartily applaud Paul's bold pronouncements and clear-sightedness on Iraq and US foreign policy. He's also the only candidate who can intelligently talk about economics and understands that the business cycle, with its recessions and depressions, is the result of the Federal Reserve's attempt to determine interest rates - and the amount of money in circulation in the economy. (For a brief explanation: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Austrian_Theory_of_the_Business_Cycle)If there's one thing I fault Paul on, it's his stance on immigration. I'm all for open borders...
