Dale,
The context of your cut and paste exactly makes my points - for one, at no time does O'Lielly give examples of what people said - he just throws out names, Soros (who he libeled and slandered), Moore and Dowd and claims they have made statements similar to the Swiftboaters.
Next, contrast what any of those people have said about Bush to what these Swift Boat people have said, along with available EVIDENCE. (I know you all on the right have a lesser standard of evidence than us on the left).
Geez ok - first of all, nobody from the Bush camp is complaining about libel and slander (unlike JFK) but If Moore's undisputed twisting of facts in any of his movies and books isn't good enough for you, how about we just go straight to the horses mouth here about trying to trash somebody's war record?

Time magazine is now reporting that only ONE of the 254 Swiftboaters ever served on a boat with Kerry; nine of ten of the people who served with Kerry are behind him.
A lot of more than nine or ten served with him. Maybe not necessarily on the same boat, but remember, there were 3 boats together when he made his daring rescue. You didn't necessarily have to be on his boat to be a witness and even he admits now that he wasn't in Cambodia which was "seared" into his memory and was the basis for much of his anti-war rhetoric when he returned home.

Documentation from the era backs Kerry's record.
Oh really? I'm still waiting for that first purple heart document ..the sick call treatment record. why won't they release that one?

And don't you think it's suspect anyway that a guy gets three purple hearts in 4 months, never misses a day of duty and then gets to go home? I'm thinking "huh?"

Not only that, Swiftboaters in the ads have been shown to have not even been first hand witnesses, have contradited themselves or simply been caught stating lies.
See Above - but remember, 16 of 23 of the officers and commanders that served with him at his base say he is unfit for command.
Now, one thing I agree with O'Lielly about is that Kerry's after war actions are open for debate, HOWEVER, if only done contextually correctly and fairly.
that's good, I agree with you. But because the man has made this the centerpiece of his campaign, so are his actions during war.
For example, last night on Matthews' show he played the part of Kerry talking about atrocities in a complete manner and when contrasted to how the Swiftboaters have done their ad, the meaning derived from their ad is completely dishonest and disengenous. The way they cut and past makes it sounds like Kerry is accusing soldiers of cutting ears and heads off, raping and so on. (As if M. Moore doesn't do this routinely to Bush ) Kerry was just reciting a compilation of behavior from others who admitted to doing such things.
No, he pretty much did do that (and certainly he disrespected vietnam veterans as a whole), consider what he said to Bob Dole in a recent phone conversation (and yeah, I realize it comes from the much despised by the left drudge site, but since you like to quote Time it's only fair...):
money quote: KERRY: "When we dedicated swift boat one in '92, I said to all the swift guys that I wasn't talking about the swifties, I was talking about all the rest of the veterans."
