I would like to think they are sincere but I think it is more of political move rather than a concern for our well being.

Best I can surmise, the two primary jobs of a political career are:

1~ To raise money...and possess the coffer.

2~ To get reelected...and possess the coffer.

...so...sincere concern for our well-being, PB, ...may well be termed a far liberal notion.

Not that it is a misguided notion; far from it.  ...Just may be the greatest ever notion, ...but I don’t think it’s made it to the Evergreen Country Club top ten list in a coupl’a hundred years or more.

...just down the street we have a Walgreens on one side of the road and a CVC on the other. That tells me we either have a hell of a lot of old sick people or just plain lots of people taking prescription drugs

In my hoi-polloi opinion, it tells us the movers and shakers of our fair state are sacked with poor to nil imaginations regarding interesting new ways to make a buck...BUT still have a firm grasp on the dangled balls of competition...& taxation.  On most of our four corners...we have the same two drugstores as you...and two biggy gas station/micro-malls on the other two.  ...On one of those two corners used to stand one of the oldest and dearest coffee houses known to this area (with a history of words & rhythms that dated wayyyy back) ...but we NEEDED that gas station, babee, ...had to have it.

...also wish the Democrats would jump in on the eminent domain issue of businesses  taking land from private homeowners to develop malls (for the good of the community).

So do your neighbors, ...so do I.  ...See point one.
