Go back and read the question of the poll again. (For a refresher it says something like "Did President's What's his name's State of the Union address make a case for war?").Well of course it did; that was what it was intended to do, HOWEVER, where was a credible rebuttal to his line of war drum beats? The US company line has been so full of misstatements, and even lies in regards to this drive for war. For example, today the UN has been stating it is not true that Iraq has inserted agents to act as scientists and that if so, the UN would know. Our Pres and his lackeys have been saying otherwise. It goes on and on. And Dan is right on in his bringing up the incubator/babies example. Another point is how the American people are so wishy-washy when it comes to American intelligence. When it comes to 9/11 the American people have show little confidence in the intelligence gathering of the FBI, CIA and other agencies. AND NOW our current admin wants us to take those same agencies word when it comes to Iraq?!? Additionally, the Bushies now want us to have confidence in our intelligence gathering in foreign countries when they failed so miserably right here in the US?!? Just which is it?One last thing about the slant of the media; for crying out loud, for those who continue to whine the mainstream media is liberal, go pick up an issue of The Nation, In These Times or The Progressive. THOSE are liberal media outlets, not CNN, MSNBC or the big three networks. If anything, the majority of the mainstream press is right there in the middle of the road with a tendancy to pull to the right.
