Au contraire, Mick. If anything, Israel has a better excuse for a military incursion now than before. Prior to a few years ago, Hamas was a fringe organiztion in Gaza when it shot rockets into Israel. Now, it is the government. It's continued support, both tacit and sustained, of rocket launches upgrades the attacks from something like terrorism to something closer to a declaration of war.

And I agree with Obama not meddling in foreign policy until he actually becomes president. As for the Arab street, I'm not sure what part of "not president yet" they don't understand. It's not a complicated concept, even for their blame-the-other-guy culture.
