Once again Mick, you are forgetting that Israel is targeting Hamas, not the people of Gaza, and fortunately attempting to wipe out Hamas. The offensive was prompted by daily rocket attacks by Hamas on Israeli civilians. The killing of innocents is unintentional and tragic, but due to the fact for the most part that Hamas embed themselves in areas where there are high civilian populations intentionally, so that the "human shield" factor is maximal. Now how do you compare that with Hamas' intentional targeting of Israeli civilians with their rockets and bombers? There is no comparison. Israel is completely justified in her current action, and I hope this time she completes the job, and what the air attacks have not been able to do, will be completed with the ground forces. What does Obama have to do with this? I think if he were already in office, he would support it. If rockets were launched daily on civilian targets in New York City, the US military action would be the same...wipe out the terrorists. Israel's position is the same in the battle against world terrorism. If Hamas were launching rockets at CIVILIAN targets in the Shire, what would you like Britain to do?
