I agree Reg. Though I've never met DB, based on his insightful posts here on the board and his music I've never had the impression he was grumpy either. In fact far from it.
I like the idea behind Lost Highway, being that they are interested in supporting artists that are genuine songwriters and not just grooming a stable full of "made for radio" eye-candy singers. Though I can't profess to know anything about their internal politics, it seems that their heart was in the right place. I'm also glad that DB and LH management parted amicably, but the article saddened me somewhat too, because in spite of David's desire to get back into film composition (which I also applaud), I was once again bitterly reminded that in fact most people simply don't know excellent musical crafstmanship when they hear it. Why the hell is that anyway?
