Kevin:By "mainstream" --- I was referring to musicians and bands
such as Springsteen and U2. Even though bands like Metallica
have had their salad days, I really wouldn't say they are as
mainstream as the ones mentioned above.Granted, Metallica is considered "commercial" among metal
acts, but I was thinking more along the lines of CELINE DION
and ANDREAS BOCCELLI and KENNY GORLICK (sheesh, no
wonder he only uses his last initial!!)As far as a band like RADIOHEAD is concerned --- in years
past, a band of this style would have been confined to a niche
market --- they would have played THE CONTENTIAL here in
Buffalo, where two three famous Buffalo bands played at one
time or another as the house band --- 10,000 MANIACS,
GREEN JELL-O (a/k/a - GREEN JELLY, after a successful
trademark infringement lawsuit), and the GOO-GOO DOLLS.
RADIOHEAD playing a place like this would have punted them
into semi-obscurity, marginal noterity, and hence --- NOT
MAINSTREAM.That is what I was thinking --- along those lines.Peace and Prayers,
