I imagine these dangerous zealots are ever so pleased at the level of vitriol brought about by the mosque controversy. It's in the best interest of these thugs to have the mosque so heatedly criticized, and thus elevating the issue to the "USA versus Islam" . Moderates, and yes, they do certainly exist in Islam, will invariably rally around their more passionate, inflamed, and dangerous brethren.

The precarious conditions in Iran, Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, Iraq, and Pakistan, are all made more incendiary if this issue festers through the November elections. And I fear it will as Republican candidates will use this as yet another wedge issue.
