Trump's lawyers at his arraignment asked during the arraignment if Trump could not be present during future court dates. There are likely several reasons for that, including the lawyers wanting to protect themselves from Trump's wrath and insanity. The judge declined this request, meaning Trump is going to be present when they return to court (on December 4th, I think) and on future dates...unless Trump does something where the judge has him removed from the court.
Honestly, based on the three statements I posted above, I do not believe any of Trump's lawyers would ever allow him to speak in court outside of yes or no answers or to utter his favorite sentence "I plead the fifth."
I don't think Trump's lawyers are even comfortable with having him sitting in the court because even if he says nothing in court, he is going to want to go on some kind of rant on social media or in front of FOX news cameras and the guy just might say anything. His comments after his arraignment were a debacle.
