I think that everything about what we are living through politically right now is fairly unusual and both parties are in strange positions.

In terms of the Democrats, they are probably in a position right now where they have to do very little. I mean, I have never seen anything like this in my life. The Republican party seems to be intentionally trying to destroy itself. Everyday there is some massive new self-inflicted wound. Democrats could not do this much damage to them if they went full on Lee Atwater. I think all they need to do is sit back and let them continue to self-immolate. 

Jim Jordan has been a one-man wrecking crew to his party. He is making stupid move after stupid move. I agree with you and David, that if the opportunity presents itself, the Democrats should toss him a bag of cement while he is floundering in his pond. 

They are pretty much doing that as he drowns himself in maybe the stupidest investigations I have ever seen. 

Basically, the Republican party is going under and Democrats can stand there and just say to them "Here, hold my anchor." 

It's a bizarre moment in time.
