I'm baffled as to what you mean by stating that left-leaning folks have presented "no workable alternative." The workable alternative to crippling our abortion rights is to leave them alone. The workable alternative to unbalancing the nation's budget is to leave it balanced. The workable alternative to wasting huge quantities of money on useless missile defense systems is to stop spending money on them. Seems incredibly clear to me.
