David,

I'm very happy to hear a musical update. Even happier to hear of your productivity. 50 songs! This is good news for your faithful followers. I'm sure there's no doubt that those that visit here are more than willing to purchase your work, in whatever form you choose to present it. So, yes I very much like your idea.

I, like some of the others so far, have the issue of being somewhat technically inept and behind the times. I don't even have a grasp of the Itunes concept really, or what it entails to make it go. I'm not against learning. If I don't miss my guess, I'm thinking you want to go this way because it simplifys distribution.

I don't want to discourage any effort on your part to get your work out there, so if this is the best way for you to do so, by all means please proceed. I would root for something on cd above anything else. It would not have to be so lovingly prepared as AFM was. Just a plain disc with the new tunes on it would be fine but I guess this presents the distribution problem again as well as production. So, please forgive my lack of knowledge of the subject, but I'm left with a question or two.

First, I don't want to screw up the system here, but if you were to present the music in an Itunes format is it possible to burn this stuff to disc?  If so, then do you have any issue with a DBinfosource copying network to allow distribution on cd to those of us with our heads up our arse in a technological sense?  If this is a pay-per-song service I feel I would be cheating you and I'm not at all for that. You've been more than generous to us here already and I don't want to take advantage of that generosity.

Second, I know you've got a job to do out there with Mr. Zimmer. This would, I assume, be your first priority. While I would guess that most of us here would love, above all else, to be able to purchase a new cd of your music, I would think that it may not be realistic to expect you to have the time spend on such an effort. Or, if we had patience and allowed you the time (years even) to assemble random collections of songs, with modest packaging...is it possible that you could ship them off to a service like cdbaby.com to handle distribution? This would, I would hope, allow us to compensate you for your efforts. As I understand it that's how cdbaby.com works, the artist ships the discs to them, and they take the orders and ship to the buyers. Perhaps there are legal issues I'm missing for you to get this done. Your obligations to Mr. Zimmer or Lost Highway maybe.

Well, I'm for you getting your music out there, however you see fit. Just bouncing ideas off your idea really. I'm looking forward to hearing your film work as well. You've always had a cinematic sweep to your work, I thought anyway. So that seems to be a good fit. I was watching The Pledge the other day and the score is very cool.

One last note, did you see that a manuscript of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, sold at auction on thursday for $3.47 million? It will now be hailed by many as the single most important musical composition in history. It already has lived quite an interesting life so far.

                                                             Regards,

                                                                       Reg
