You have a right to be a dick in your own home. The police do not have a right to come into your home and be a dick to you.

That police report looks to me a lot like "copspeak" that, properly translated, really means "this guy was being a dick, and since I couldn't arrest him in the house, I lured him outside so he would be a dick in public, where I could arrest his arrogant ass and teach him not to mess with me."

But I don't know . . .
