With the exception of Obama putting his foot in his mouth, the coverage I've seen has been pretty even handed.
I have yet to see 'Uncle Al' on the tube (thank God.)
The Emerging media consensus is that Gates Authority (I'm in my own house) ran up against the Police Authority (I'm doing my job) and it escalated into a pissing contest. Civilians, white or black, never win these. There was also a report on MS-NBC that there was an attempted burglary at the house earlier in the week.
Ultimately, there was more than enough stupid to go around Neighbors, Cops, and last but certainly not least, Professor Gates.
