"carnage of all things non-white" is a real strong way of characterising a whole culture, and given the fact that there are numerous examples otherwise, including a black president of the country, a vast exaggeration. Exaggerative statements and views like that do nothing to bring people together, only further divide the country.

Thanks to Cassandra for the info, sounds like as usual a bit of information goes a long way. The idea of "building a mosque near ground zero" suddenly seems much less of a controversy with a bit of information.

I am no big fan of the American way, like anything human it is imperfect at best, but to carry on like it is pure demon is laughable IMO. You don't have to look very hard to see plenty of countries, of ALL religious faiths, carrying on in sickening ways.

Let's not let the pendulum of truth seeking swing all of the way to the other extreme...it is no better than the idiots who are on the other extreme, carrying their USA flags and singing "God Bless America" while refusing to listen to any criticism of the "land of the free."
