I hear and share your concerns about our nation's fiscal health. What then do you make of the refusal of every Republican presidential contender to accept a plan that would provide $10 in entitlement cuts for $1 in new revenue? Let's be honest, they wouldn't accept a 100 to 1 ratio because they are anti-tax zealots. A balanced approach to cuts and taxes is the only serious way to deal with the situation. The president wanted to strike a "grand bargain" but agreeing to a compromise was anathema to the Republicans. And that, sir, is the truth. Honestly, Marc, your thoughts please.
