If I had to name one thing that causes me the greatest amount of frustration it is when I can't "understand" something. It really gets under my skin and the thing I can't understand is the appeal of a person like Donald Trump. I just don't understand it. In relative terms, he is the most disgusting human in today's society that I can think of and will continue to destroy this country.
Then, to further describe this inability to understand this, we have the religious followers - this man has clearly exhibited he is not religious or spiritual in any way whatsoever. Those people have plenty of examples of his character and choose to ignore it. Frankly, if The Rapture were to occur, Trump would be the first to enter and would then close the gate on anyone else following him.
About the only reason I can think these types follow someone like Trump, along with other reasons, is because they know he is a classic bully, and as long as they allow him to ply his character and not bully them, then they are perfectly fine with him bullying others as long as it is not them, and he bullies their own "enemies."
It also pains me so much when it comes to his followers that I have yet to reach the level of cutting off all contact with ANY known Trump supporter, including friends and family, but I am getting close (it fries my brain knowing I have former co-working police officers that support this man and care nothing about the 144 police officers injured that day).
Lastly, on to Hillary. One thing I've noticed that is pretty consistent in politics is little takes down a politician, discounting some scandals, more than that of personal hubris and Hillary had more than her share of that and it cost her, but more importantly, it cost ALL American citizens (and ironically, women most of all).
Here is what I'm getting at - yes, it all came down to her goddamned personal computer server and emails and her arrogant hubris of learning nothing from Bill Clinton's 8 years in office. I mean, how long of a time do you need to conceptualize that Republicans have mastered the art of not only building scandals out of non-scandals, but turning a person's strongest attribute into a weakness (John Kerry, Vietnam, Swift boat vs a man who did not serve in war; Joe Biden's humanity vs turning him into a pervert, et cetera).
My point is, that she learned nothing from more than 8 years of staple holes in passports, haircuts, a consensual blow job, the fake "murder" of Vince Foster, and so on. She had all that time to realize that they were going to come after her no matter what and what did she do? Nothing but act like a soldier in a war zone who stands up when the bullets are flying to take a look at what is going on.
And I don't want to hear the Comey bullshit because SHE should have KNOWN better on her own and never opened herself up to such a non-scandal even though Colin Powell told her he did the same thing, and if I'm not mistaken, receive approval to have one in her home.
One last thing I don't understand - I personally believe that there is a difference in the brains of liberals and conservatives - that both focus on things relative to their own brains and with this, what I don't understand is how is that the more creative of the two lack the ability to craft methods and ideas that would send these MAGA creatures back to hell. Democrats are horrible at messaging and taking the fight to these fuckers and I just don't understand that (though my father always told me that "people don't like mean Democrats" and to some extent, I believe that to be partly true).
One book I recommend that illustrates some of this and better ways to deal with it is Eric Alterman's "What Liberal Media?", and in it, he points out things like how Democrats are horrible at processes like "working the ref" and I just watched a bit of political news on one of the big cable channels (not fucking Faux) and saw this over and over again. I don't understand why more Democrats and liberal pundits don't hammer reporters for their abject failure when it comes to reporting, which has now turned into simple "repeating."
Though it is early, how is Haley's recent comment about how America has never been racist be allowed to be less than a ripple from a single drop of water? Or, how can the remarks of a presidential candidate who tells Iowans a day after a school shooting to "get over it" not be held accountable for that remark? All the while the media focuses on Biden's age and Hunter, Hunter, Hunter?
Where are the Democratic operatives calling these worthless reporter shits out on their horrible reporting? Nowhere.....
