"If I read this to you and did not tell you that it was an FBI agent describing what Americans had done to prisoners in their control, you would most certainly believe this must have been done by Nazis, Soviets in their gulags, or some mad regime — Pol Pot or others — that had no concern for human beings," Durbin said Tuesday.
What he said was blunt but hardly off the mark when read in context. What is despicable is the language and the sheer volume used to shoot him down, right here in a country that supports free speech.
It is a combination of deep sadness and stunned amusement I feel when I see, time and time again the temporarily "empowered Right" in this country go nuts over something like this, or Howard Dean's "white Christian Party" comments. Maybe it's ugly but that is the perception.
Its getting really hard to tell the Republicans from any other "Hate Group"
They hate the Dems, the Fags, the environment, free speech, the UN, Public Broadcasting, Science, the Clinton's and even maybe some hard truth's are too much for them to take on.
I'm anxious to get back to a country thats moving forward, not backwards.
I would welcome more moderate republicans, instead of this giant "denial" machine that crushes any percieved foe in a landslide of slurs and out of context attacks.
Oh and Good Morning.
