boy, i have missed some things.
BUT, remember, if someone's opinion pisses you off, it is a good sign you just learned something.
good one!
as for wacking the wacked-out wackers...well, i'm not a big fan theoretically - if killing is wrong, then....
and it puts us in the company of some pretty fucked countries. almost makes us look a little...hypocritical about things in general.
plus, wildly disparate application of the ultimate penalty.
and, oh yeah, innocent people, too. that's kind of a big one.
as for the costs, i was of the belief that the lengthy appeals process costs the taxpayers far more than the @ $40,000 a year (sic?) to just lock 'em away for good.
but then again, perhaps some rabid dogs just need to be put down. i would like to live in a world where children aren't fucked, killed and left as 'calling cards'.
so let's let the victim's family pull the switch, if they so desire.
and, yes, we could do it Coliseum-style, with all the proceed from the paying public to go for appropriate restitutions and community programs. could also do a pay-per-view special, narrated by Simon Cowell.
at the end of the day, i'd still vote against it for now. if incontrivertible DNA evidence nails a clearly premeditated or sexually abusive murderer in a more fair and impartial judicial system, i may reconsider.
nice to be back (i think - don't flame me!).
