I'm struck by the hypocrisy of this administration using "liberation" as their "spin" of choice as an excuse to conquer Iraq. This war is not and was never about saving the Iraqi people from Saddam; if it was we would not have put Saddam in power or at least done something when he was actually attacking the Kurds and others. It seems pretty obvious to me that Iraq is not now, or ever was, any sort of threat to America, or else they would be putting up more of a fight while they are actually being attacked.
Two more points, the "spin" about coalition of the willing most of the nations mentioned are in name only and not truly apart of this war, but it sounds more palatable to the american public when our administration uses the words coalition forces. Also, several posters have mentioned that our military was decimated during the 90's, but all I hear from the adminstration, the military and the talking heads, is that our capablities in this gulf war are light years ahead of the last.
I'm more opposed to this war now then before it started and because I respect our soldiers and am grateful for their sacrifice, I'm even angrier at Bush and his policymakers for putting them in harms way for political and economic interests.
