"I don't listen to Zep as much as I used to, they have suffered from over exposure..." -block
I totally agree block, they've played them to death. Almost every song from all their albums! Not a bad track record though that all your material was that good it got played to that extent. I'll admit I loved Zep as a kid. I loved the blues, still do, and they took that gigantic approach to it. I will admit I love hearing just these four guys getting together to make this giant sound. A three piece band behind the otherworldly howl of Mr. Plant...it's still amazing to me. Technology rules today but those guys did it the old fashioned way and really nothing sounds better than that. Not in a live setting anyway. I've heard that Zep were party monsters on the road and it was always best to catch them early on a tour because they had overindulged by it's later stages with women and other substances. So, I'm not surprised to hear your story about Page. What do you suppose went on at Bonham's party? This new material though shows a different side. I've never heard Page sound so good in a live setting. The cd's are jaw dropping.
