Marriage equality arrived in several states and countries. Also, I think the emergence of the "New Atheist" authors (Harris, Dawkins, Hitchens, Dennett, et al.) has been a breath of fresh air, if only to let secularists, and fence sitters, know that they are not alone. Lastly, on balance, I'd say wide scale access to the Internet has been an enormous plus.
