...because Trump and a bunch of top secret and above documents sitting around his resort is the tip of a rather huge iceberg.
Here's what I think, they are going to track down who took these documents and got them to Trump and they are going to figure out who was helping Trump in this scheme. So, I think there are two ways for people that helped get this done to go:
1. Start negotiating your cooperation deal as fast as possible and spill every single thing you know about Trump and the scheme to steal this stuff. (You'll note the media and Trump are sort of hinting there is a person or persons that already have come forward and spilled the beans that Trump was still hiding documents at Mar-a-Lago, and this person or persons probably was told by their lawyer cooperate now or end up in jail for 20 years).
2. Leave the country asap and go to a place where there is no US extradition deal in place.
If you get caught having helped Trump in this one you are going to jail and not slap on the wrist Steve Bannon jail sentence...you will be right fucked in this case.
The defense that you thought Trump had the power to declassify anything you stole will not work. Ignorance and stupidity will not be considered a defense.
