Why is it that suddenly for a guy that has never been charged in any criminal activity anywhere (let alone NYC) has suddenly 91 felony charges alleged by very partisan prosecutors on what most lawyers would say are very questionable charges?

From the early 80s, Trump's involvement with the Mobs; Russian, Italian, Jewish was a prime topic of conversation in many circles, not the least being the NY AG's office. I learned all this at a memorable lunch with a then-AG/novelist named Eddie Russo (now a federal judge) in Columbus Circle in I think around 1988. It took a long time to get Al Capone, too.
