I'm afraid you may be getting your information from a bogus source. A quick google search comes up with a long list of articles from a variety of sources detailing how NYC's crime rate has gone down. So that would mean that it has not, in fact, increased. That is true across the country. A February 2024 NPR article reports that despite the fact that people think violent crime has risen, it has actually gone down. There are many ways for you to learn about the struggles that people of color have faced in our nation both earlier in our history and even to this day. You could watch the powerful "The 13th" a documentary about the 13th amendment or the Hulu documentary series "1619". In fact, here's a whole list of books, movies, podcasts, documentaries from NPR which may help you to understand how white men, even when disadvantaged in some way, still have one major advantage. That advantage is that they are white.
