Icon Durbin's words and the UN...

Certainly Durbin could have chosen words more carefully, however the context (if one reads his entire speech) is nothing like what has been portrayed in the media or by the right. And he never stated or meant for his words to mean that he thought our soliders were the same as Nazis or the KGB, only that the behavior has been terrible and that the leadership from the top has failed to prevent this behavior.

As for Kofi Anan....a little research will show that most of the movers and shakers behind the scenes have been Americans put in place and who have done nothing to stop any of the scandals in the UN. I'll try to find the link to stories of American appointees who have been in charge of several UN efforts.
