Alito's cofirmation is a step closer to real protections for our most vulnerable among us. I'm willing to take a chance on his appointment and only hope that we seat one more similar minded judge before cases which could affect roe v wade are considered.

There was a time less than 200 years ago when the US Supreme Court felt slavery was good for this land but better minds prevailed and now we look back on those days and wonder how it was that we ever bought into slavery. Slaves weren't citizens worthy of even the most basic rights. To own or not to own a slave was a choice a person could make for themselves...sound familiar?

I don't know if it will happen in my lifetime but I'm hopeful that someday we'll look back on this period of our history with respect to abortion and wonder how it was that we ever saw abortion as an answer.

I'd be happy to read your concerns about Alito's appointment and how you feel he will negatively effect the direction of the court.
