Oh, come on David...the Peter King quote. You don't think that was said tongue in cheek? I do. A Congressman is going to go before a television camera and tell the people that he and his constituents are in the process of rigging the election? Okay.
Who said anything about late term abortions? I guess I did. I believe Alito will be a vote in the direction of a more moderate court which values human life.
The checks and balances are still there with the most important of them being at the polls. When the Democrats put together a message with ideas that people want to hear delivered with a little less whining you may begin to see some results. A change in some of the lunatic fringe which speaks for your party would also be nice.
Al, in answer to your comment..."when is it late..or early....is there a time limit to abortions?..do you pass a point in pregnancy when it is wrong or right?, painfull or painless?" Maybe you could tell me when it's too late to have an abortion. I prefer to work backwards when I approach this and say that if the life in the mother is viable what right do we have to kill that life? The other way to look at it is to say that it's just a collection of cells which really don't constitute life...yet, and because we're really not speaking about a life it must be okay to abort it. The problem with that thinking is that you soon find yourself without limits and that's where we are today...a very slippery slope which as I stated earlier has people of a liberal persuasion fighting vigorously to maintain the right of the mother to kill the life within her (not her own) at any time she chooses.
