Well, if you dont have a problem with all the symptoms of creeping totalitarianism, unverifiable elections, the daily and unnecessary death of god knows how many people, the elevation of superstition over science, the evisceration of our educational system, secret torture prisons, a suicidal energy policy, equally suicidal, or at least punishingly unjust and unsustainable economic policies, a useless blunder of a war, the crippling of our military, the abandonment of our veterans (we have 800 to a thousand new homeless here in downtown LA, and guess what? The bulk of them are our new walking wounded- Iraq war vets, out of their fucking minds with PTSD and God knows what else) the profound alienation of our friends and allies around the world, the disembowelling of our emergency and social services, the triumph of cronyism over competence, a blithe disregard of environmental disaster, the pillaging of our forests,..., etc, ad infinitum, and I could go on with this for days, then I don't really know what to say to you. Alito may or may not be a deciding vote in making abortion more illegal and more dangerous for a lot more poor people. I don't know about that. But I do know that throughout his career, he has always sided with the corporation against the citizen, with the executive power against checks and balances-- with the big against the small. He does not represent the America that I want to live in.

And one thing among a few springs to mind that I can't do anymore--namely visit with all my friends in New Orleans. Cause theyre all gone.
