Icon OK, here's the hope...the switch to Kamala and how and when it will happen

So, I have been down for a bit, but I do think we have hope here. I do now think we are about to see the switch to Kamala, several things convinced me of this yesterday, including what I was hearing from CNN and MSNBC. They almost totally shifted their tone from morning through the afternoon, to when I was driving home in the evening. I believe it was leaked to several reporters that Biden is stepping out and Harris will be the new candidate. They were not permitted to openly spill that but they began talking as if they knew and treating Harris as if she was already the candidate. Also, later in the day they began saying that sources within Biden's inner circle were saying Joe had made the choice and was stepping out.

I think the switch has been intentionally planned to coincide with the end of the Republican convention. Parties and candidates tend to get a boost of interest from their conventions and the way the opposing party tries to undercut that is to have some big announcement/piece of news they release right after the opposing parties convention...to steal their thunder.

So, I think the timing was meant to be, the switch to Kamala would come after the Republican convention. Looking at it, it makes total sense.

So, it will be Kamala and that is due to the money aspect of the campaign. The money collected by Biden/Harris would need to be turned over to the DNC if they chose anybody but Harris as the candidate. She controls the money if she is the candidate when Biden steps out. Not having it be her would cause further delays with the money having to be moved around and reauthorized by DNC to go to a candidate other than Harris. All the logistics of doing a candidate switch favor Harris, including that she already has ballot access in all 50 states. So, there is no better way to go, it is Harris.

In choosing her VP it would likely be a person from a swing state. Gretchen Whitmer stands tall here for a number of reasons. In an election where women's rights are in play in a giant way, an all female ticket could be very impactful. The Republicans are running two horrid guys that completely oppose women's rights and are very open about it. A Harris/Whitmer ticket could be big. Also, Trump supporters launched a plot to kidnap and kill Whitmer, and she stood strong in the face of that. She's the governor from an important swing state.

This idea seems like a good one. Two horrid bro candidates, one found guilty of sexual assault and that says he likes to grab women by the pussy, against two strong and smart women, that are defenders of women's rights...that seems a pretty damn good tilt. It would give the Democrat ticket a rather huge leg up on the shitastic pairing of Don and JD.

Now, hear me out on this, the Republicans want to go against Biden, their campaign is entirely rigged to face him. Their selling point is basically Strong Don against Stumbling Joe. If Joe steps out, it is going to major league screw with the Republican strategy. It's not just a major shift for the Democrats, it is for the Republicans too. The Republican ticket is about strong men dominating a weak old man. It is about men being able to tell women what their rights are.

There does need to be a major shake-up on the Democrats side. Joe has not been able to convince people he is able to do this for another 4 years. It is possible that shifting to a Harris and Whitmer (if it is her) would reenergize the entire race. I should also point out that the big money donors are saying they would open the faucets of money for a ticket like that.

So, I think this is it. This is what is coming and I think, rather than having all of us feeling down about watching how Joe performs...it may be the boost of energy and hope this race needs. The switch will dominate headlines and the news cycle. It will put Don's momentum in the rearview mirror. We will be basically jumpstarting the campaign. This could be what is needed to bring the Democrats to a win.

Remember, that the one constant in all polling in this race so far is 70% of the country can't stand Trump or Biden and want them replaced. Well, perhaps the solution here is give the people what they want.

3/4 of independents do not want Trump or Biden. We have a solution right in front of us.
