Icon To back up a bit, I don't think this is about race...

So, my money is on the reason they went down the road of running Biden a second time was because Harris did so poorly when she ran for president, she ended up dropping out fairly quickly. I think this is likely what scared Democrats about running her. Second, yeah, Trump's campaign is based on open racism, and so there may be Democrats that feel shaky about running a black woman...yeah, on the Trump side some people will hate that and I think if we could poll that it is mostly while males that don't like her.

However, before the primaries kicked off, when Harris was running for president, I believe she was the favorite of the party to be the candidate. They thought she would win and I believe initially they did not want Biden. So, if people are unsure about Harris, I would say it is not about her race, it is about her poor primary performance. She had to quickly drop out, it was obvious she was not ready for prime time at that point. She looked uncomfortable and that comes across badly to people watching.

I think this time as VP should have helped her. She is an intelligent woman that comes prepared. I have no issue with her at all, and all I think she needed was to learn more about how to play the crowd and be a politician. I think as a prosecutor, she was used to being very direct, and she does that great, but politics tends to be a massage of the electorate that makes them feel comfortable with you.

I listened to Howard Dean talk about making the switch to Kamala. He did not feel it was an issue, he said it has to be her because she would be allowed to put the money Biden/Harris has amassed to use right away. Joe has to announce he is stepping aside is the primary thing. The only thing Dean warned about is the Democrats can't have a fight over it. When it gets to the convention, the delegates that were pledged to Biden have to hold the line and back Harris. The only mess, would be a delegate fight. The Democrats can't do that. If they can have unity in the transition, all is well.

I do think there has been a plan all along if this were to happen or if Biden fell ill and it has always been Harris. Quite honestly, it is the only way they can go and once that is understood, go that way...don't fight.

I don't think anything that has happened has made Trump more popular. I think he is still seen by 70% of the population as a disgusting nitwit. He is also now perceived as a felon, and a guy that committed sexual assault by everybody except MAGA clowns. He remains a weak candidate, even after one of his own people tried to shoot him.

So, I think we can do this switch. If Biden says he is not running and Harris steps in, outside of a corrupt judge, I see no lawsuit that could block Harris from being the top of the ticket. There is no precedent to block that and there is nothing unfair about it no matter what MAGA lawyers holler.

This is going to happen. Obama and Hakeem Jeffries are onboard for it. They are giving Biden the respect of not saying it openly so he can make his own announcement, but it will happen shortly.

We just all need to get behind it when it comes and take it as a positive. Biden has served his country for decades. He definitely has earned our respect and appreciation. It makes sense for him, at 81, and showing his age, to step aside and be the one that gives this country what they seem to want...a candidate that is not Trump or Biden. A choice of a real leader that is ready for the next 4 years.
