I think one of the things that made Clinton such a powerful candidate/president initially was that he took ideas (good and decent ideas) from both sides of the ticket and folded them into his own campaign & presidency. It’s probably what made the Republicans so very mad at him. But it’s also what made him appealing in the first place to so many people. It’s that spirit of compromise we could use more of if we ever hope to move forward.
Yes Al Franken is/was a comedian, but he's still a citizen of the same country we live in and if he can deliver his thoughts and opions , and garners more awarness because of his alleged celbrity, so be it. I'm all for using ones powers for good. Besides I don't think I've ever seen his name in a tabloid and that somehow comforts me.
I thank you all for your input on this issue. My passions for these issues is growing at an alarming rate, I appreciate the fact that here I can come and get multiple views and mostly reasonable conversation. I take what all of you say and try to process it. I encourage dissenting views on my thoughts and hope to learn from them.
And I am trying to use spell check here from now on. I get to typing so emotionally that grammar and spelling suffer.
