You know, in the early hysteria of 9/11, I probably would have agreed with you. But I'm coming to the conclusion that our heavy-handed tactics will only bring bad karma to us in the future. These "terrorists" are in fact citizens of one country or another. I am beginning to think that denying them lawyers and a real trial works very neatly if you don't want to hear the truth.
I mean, how many Americans really know why 9/11 happened in the first place? What do we really know? I've already mentioned here that engineers question how the towers collapsed at nearly the speed of gravity and at the same time shredded and pulverized so much steel and concrete. More importantly, the question of motive by these "terrorists" has escaped us - and I do think that we could learn something if we knew more.
