Sorry if I wasn't clear. The pictures are the truth, and the truth is never dangerous, well almost never dangerous, except perhaps when the Koran is involved. The troops are already in danger as it is, and I don't think that these pictures will put them in any more danger. On the other hand, it's in the interest of the Administration to keep this stuff under wraps. Why? Because, God forbid, it might emerge that the Administration (Cheney, Condi) approved methods which led to this abuse. It's embarrassing, and it shows us for who we are and have become. But putting our troops in danger? That's just a politically-loaded charge that doesn't hold up as far as I'm concerned.
And I don't think the Newsweek reports were erroneous. I have a sneaky suspicion that the charges were so explosive that perhaps even telling the truth about it was simply too dangerous. We're talking about the Koran, the holiest of holies here.
