But you are missing the bigger picture.  The abuse was widespread and systematic.  All the focus on the bad apples confuses the issue and takes you away from the reality that the conduct was not only condoned but encouraged.  It's the secrecy element of this war that is preventing the truth from getting out, and consequently all we get on this end is denial that such treatment was routine and expected.  The whole point was to demoralize and basically scare the shit out of the captives, let them know we mean business, let them tell their friends not to f### with us etc.  It's part of the psychological warfare we've heard about but haven't been privy to the details - because they are secret.  And the hypocrisy is that they throw the ignorant young gal England in jail and wash their hands of the story - and try to prevent any further leaks of abuse.
