The Atlantic magazine did a three issue story on the downing of the WTC buildings, and in my opinion, put to rest any sort of nefarious plot other than the two planes (it was sort of thing of what could go wrong did and what could go right did not). Everything from pancaking floors to heat resistant materials being knocked off of metal on the crucial floors to paper fueling the intense heat was discussed in those articles.
