All political mumbo jumbo aside, I'm not surprised there are things we agree on. I would think we probably agree on more than we disagree on. Here's a shocker for you Pat, not only am I not a pacifist but I'm also not a registered Democrat...I'm a damn Independent. Weird huh?
The book looks interesting, I haven't read it either, nor am I familiar with it's author. It is a rather mind boggling issue and the lack of attention to it by the current administration seems well...bizarre...in a very bad way I'm afraid. I know it's a bit...ahh...Kent Bentowski-like...but it almost seems as if this administration is rooting for another terrorist attack to allow them to improve their stranglehold on this country and the planet in general. I mean 26 billion for Turkey but nothing to outfit our police and fire? Nothing to improve the situation at our shipping ports? The borders still left fairly wide open? I mean why? I really don't get it. They don't seem to be trying to protect us, more so trying to keep us frightened and isolated...Condition ORANGE!!! You know how we get to condition RED? There has to be another attack...pretty shitty system huh? In the meantime they tell us to cover our homes in plastic...assemble emergency kits...as if we already know it's coming and can't be stopped. Then what? They say "Hey, we told you so!"
Of the list of grammy records I think the only one that's in this house is the Norah Jones disc. I gave it to my wife as a gift. I don't pay any attention to the awards shows and I don't really care if there are any political statements made on them. Everyone's welcome to their own opinion right? Oh well, enough ramble. Thanks for the book recommendation Pat.
